Housing

HFT Housing is a local scheme designed to support individuals as they move towards independent living. Supporting adults at risk or in need, the scheme aims to work in partnership with statutory bodies and the community / voluntary sector so as to avoid homelessness.

We work with tenants to access their need for supported living including:

  • Emotional and Wellbeing support
  • Counselling
  • Community and Group activities
  • Support regarding the safety of property and tenant
  • Support in the use of appliances
  • Support for necessary repairs
  • Life skills training as appropriate
  • Support to engage with others, e.g. professionals/services
  • Support with building and maintaining relationships/dealing with disputes
  • Controlling access
  • Support with resettlement
  • Support with shopping and errands
  • Support encouraging social intercourse and attending events
  • General support
  • Signposting for Welfare checks
  • Budgeting and money management
  • Support with benefits claims
  • Housing Benefit claims

The scheme is designed and tailored for those whose prime problem is homelessness or risk of homelessness; who may be unemployed, who are 18 years or over, who need support to enable them to move from dependence to independent living within 12 months.
